We underatand that living with a parrot is not for everyone. We understand that your circumstances may change beyond your control. We understand that giving up your bird could be a very difficult decision to make. Here at Companion Parrots Care & Rescue we dont judge, we simply try to help both the parrot & you. You wil see many advertisments for people wanting "free" parrots I advise you to think very carefully- ca these people afford expensive vet care? Do they have the experience needed? Please consider carefully. Also there is unfortunatly, unscrupulous people who will use the bird to breed from until it is no use to them anymore.  I have often recieved enquireies from people who are not suitable in a ny way to re-home a parrot in my opinion.

When you contact us about donating a bird to Companion Parrots Care & Rescue you will treated with respect & confidentiality.,

Tracy will take all of the details needed & will ask lots of questions about the parrot-this is so that we know as may details as possible about the birds health, personality, likes, dislikes, preferences e.c.t. The next step is to explain what we can offer to your bird. If you decide we are the right choice, we will disuss arrangements for your parrot to travel to us- we don not have transport to travel great disatances but we do have volunteer drivers who can sometimes help out. We are happy for you to bring the bird yourself to our home, some people like to see where the bird will be living.

You will be asked to formally sign over the parrot to us - this is a legally binding document which gives full ownership to John & Tracy Bolton of Companion Parrots Care & Rescue.

We do NOT charge any fee to you.

Previous owners are welcome to stay in touch with us & I send out a quarterly update to you with photos & a general review of what the bird has been up to.

Dont Worry if you cant continue to care far your bird for whatever reason, we will do our bes to help.

Some birds come along to us with their cages, some dont.- It always helps for they parrot to feel secure if they can remain in their own cages, if cages are too small or unsuitable we will improve this as soon as possible but the cage may be suitable for another parrot in our care. We are always gratefull for donations of ropes, toys , perches e.c.t. but if your bird does not arrive with these dont worry everything will be provided.

We believe that every parrot deserves to live a happy, healthy life in a great sociable, loving enviroment.
